Website staging
Named staging sites (Dev, Test, and more) next to production, with From/To copy when you are ready.
Staging is not the Preview URL
A Preview URL shows the same files as your live site on a temporary address. Website staging is one or more separate sites, each with its own files and database. Production stays unchanged until you copy to it.
Who can use it
Web Basic uses the Website staging add-on per site. From Business upward, one staging site per hosted domain is included. Each extra site uses the same add-on price.
Copy a working site
Choose From and To among Production and your staging sites (for example Dev to Test, Dev to Production, or Production to Dev). Each copy includes files and the database. NovaMX adjusts site addresses and database settings automatically so the target works on its own address. After you confirm, the copy runs in the background and can take a few minutes. My NovaMX shows progress until it finishes.
Mail and scheduled tasks
Outbound mail from each staging site is off by default. You can allow only test addresses, or send for real after a clear confirmation. Scheduled tasks on a staging site stay off until you turn them on.
Git branches
Each staging site has its own Git branch. Deploying that branch publishes only to that site. The production branch publishes to live. Copy between sites with From/To when you want to promote.
