EU-friendly WordPress installs on NovaMX hosting

Why the defaults matter

A fresh WordPress site often phones home for fonts, emoji assets, block patterns and comment avatars. Those calls can leave the European hosting stack and pull content from services outside the EU. NovaMX keeps one-click installs on a tighter starting point: fewer remote calls by default, European time, and a smooth first login from My NovaMX.

What we change at install

Themes that load Google Fonts are rewritten to an EU font host, so typography does not depend on a US font CDN. Remote emoji loading is off. Remote block-pattern directory calls are off. Comment avatars that contact a US avatar service are off by default. The site timezone is set to Europe/Amsterdam so posts, schedules and the dashboard match Dutch and wider European business hours.

Still standard WordPress

You still get a normal WordPress site on NovaMX hosting in the EU: core, themes, plugins and your content. We do not replace WordPress with a locked fork. You can turn remote features back on or change the timezone later in the WordPress dashboard if a project needs it. Existing sites are not rewritten automatically; the defaults apply to new one-click installs.

After install, Open dashboard signs you into wp-admin once from the portal. You do not need to hunt for a password just to take the first look. NovaMX also shows a backup password once. Store it somewhere safe if you want a password login later. The portal does not keep that password in clear text after the install result is shown.

Pair it with Website staging

Install WordPress on production when you are ready for a live site. For theme and plugin experiments, create a Website staging site, pull production into it, and try changes there first. When the result looks right, push back to production. Staging keeps unfinished work off visitors and keeps outbound test mail off by default.

What this is not

These defaults do not make every plugin or theme EU-only. Third-party plugins can still add their own remote calls. NovaMX does not claim a certification for WordPress itself. We set a careful starting point on our European hosting, and you stay in control of what you install next.

How to start

Sign in to My NovaMX, open Website for your domain, then install WordPress. When the job finishes, use Open dashboard for the first login and save the backup password if you need it. Add Website staging when you want a separate place to test before publishing.
